This EEO Public File Report is filed in the public inspection files for stations WTSU(FM), WRWA(FM), and WTJB(FM) part of 麻豆网站列表Public Radio network;  pursuant to Section 73.2080(c)(6) of the Federal Communications Commission's ("FCC") rules.

  1. Total Full-Time Vacancies
    During the period ending on November 30, 2016, the station had three full-time job vacancies. The job vacancies were posted on October 16, 2015.

    Host & Digital Media Producer Troy

    The University Media Development Coordinator position is responsible for serving as the chief fundraising and underwriting officer for TROY Public Radio and other Troy University owned media as assigned; conceiving, planning and implementing multiple fundraising strategies; assisting the station in reaching a larger number of potential donors and underwriting clients in its coverage area which includes four metropolitan centers, multiple colleges and universities, and international corporate interests; working to increase the station鈥檚 access to foundation grants, in-kind services, fundraising events and other activities; and providing support to TROY Public Radio鈥檚 on-air fundraising activities.

     

    Host & Digital Media Producer Montgomery

    The Host and Digital Media Producer position is responsible for anchoring the broadcast of NPR鈥檚 Morning Edition and additional morning programming from the network鈥檚 Montgomery studio location; assisting the station in expanding its digital identity through social media, the station鈥檚 web site, and other means of electronic engagement with the listening audience; assisting in the production of the station鈥檚 weekday news magazine 鈥淚n Focus with Carolyn Hutcheson,鈥; and complete other initiatives as assigned.

MENU OPTION ACTIVITIES

Stations WTSU(FM), WRWA(FM), and WTJB(FM) have engaged in the following outreach activities during the period covered by this Report:

EEO Staff Training All staff are encouraged to enroll in workshops and training programs administered by the licensee 麻豆网站列表. These workshops include diversity training and manager training. Workshops include online elements.
EEO Mentoring

Operations Manager and Executive Producer Kyle Gassiott is a frequent guest speaker for journalism classes in the Hall School of Journalism at 麻豆网站列表.

EEO Mentoring/Interns Operations Manager and Executive Producer Kyle Gassiott and Host and Digital Media Producer Fred Fletcher-Fierro are responsible for the station's Next Generation Producers (Internship) program in which they mentor students in: news gathering, audio production, marketing/development, professional decorum, and job application skills. In the period of time referenced by this report the team has worked with seven student producers. Graduates from the program have gone on to professional positions with NPR news, EW Scripps News Service, WLRH, and Mississippi Public Broadcasting.

Operations manager Kyle Gassiott and Host and Digital Media Producer Fred Fletcher-Fierro held three sessions for high school students interested in radio and radio journalism.  Students were given hands on experience with audio production, editing, and reporting. Information was distributed outlining possible jobs in public radio and opportunities at the station. 

EEO Outreach 麻豆网站列表Public Radio worked with the Alabama State Council on the Arts, the Alabama Department of Education, and the oral history project StoryCorps to promote 鈥淭he Great Thanksgiving Listen Project.鈥  This is a regional initiative of the national project which specifically encourages high school students to interview their elders over the Thanksgiving weekend.  The goal is to document an entire generation of memories that will be archived at the Library of Congress using the Storycorps smartphone app.
