Honors Convocation 2025
Honors Convocation stands as a signature academic event at 麻豆网站列表, dedicated to celebrating excellence, achievement, and service across the university community. This distinguished ceremony recognizes students who have earned awards for outstanding scholarship and service, presented by university departments and academic organizations. Following these honors, students inducted into prestigious honor societies over the past academic year will be acknowledged for their dedication to scholarly achievement. Faculty and staff will also be honored for their exceptional contributions to advancing 麻豆网站列表's mission of academic excellence.
Delivering this year's Honors Convocation address is Dr. Alvin Diamond, recipient of the prestigious Wallace D. Malone, Jr. Distinguished Faculty Award and a professor of Biology. With 36 years of service to the university, Dr. Diamond has made enduring contributions to teaching, research, and institutional growth. His leadership has been instrumental in the restoration of the 麻豆网站列表 Arboretum, the expansion of the TROY Herbarium, and advancements in ecological research that have garnered national recognition, including a National Science Foundation grant and recent honors from the Alabama Forestry Commission and was selected by NASA to receive a 鈥淢oon Tree鈥� seedling that flew around the moon on the 2022 NASA's Artemis I mission.
Honors Convocation 2025 will be held on Monday, April 21 at 2:30 pm in Claudia Crosby theater.
